Media Stereotyping

How does the media stereotype me? Well lets start off with the fact that I am a fat Asian male. The media stereotypes these three features quite a bit. First off, being overweight is often viewed as somebody who eats too much or is often times very lazy. Overweight people also are rarely seen going to the gym, Also many young overweight males tend to play lots of video games. To be honest, most of these stereotypes are true for me. I am very lazy and I tend to eat a lot. I also play a lot of video games. I am however trying to drop some weight so you might see me at the gym occasionally and I am cutting down on my food portions. The other stereotype (which is probably the biggest) is the fact that I am Asian. Asians have many stereotypes. Some of these include: being smart, always top of the class, plays a musical instrument, good at video games, short, good at math, bad driver, and not very athletic. In my case, only a few of these are true and the others are not. The third and final feature, being a male, is also often stereotyped. Males are stereotyped as being aggressive, strong, resilient, athletic, and tough. We are also stereotyped on the type of work we do. Men tend to do more physically demanding work compared to that of females. For example, men usually do the yard work while the women tend to the housework.

The Death Sentence

The death sentence is immoral. As humans we do not have the right to take someone's life from them. Even if the person in question is a serial killer, we do not have the authority to take their life. While all crimes deserve some type of punishment, no crime should result in punishment by death. Instead of having the death sentence, we should provide a type of rehab where the criminals are basically retrained to live amongst society. Many people will learn from their mistakes but the government never gives these people any more chances.

Murderers and serial killers deserve to be put to death. Taking away the life of another person is unforgivable. Our prisons are becoming extremely overcrowded. Why make a person spend the rest of their life behind bars? It would be much more humane to just end their life and get it over with. Not to mention that we would save a lot of money and there would be more spaces opened up in our prisons. There should also be less trials before the execution. Some of these serial killers and murderers live for decades after their arrest because of court matters. If it is 100% certain that the person committed the crime, then they should only be alive for at most a few weeks. All these court proceedings just take up way too much time. It is completely unnecessary.

Hajime no Ippo

Hey anime fans, I just started watching a new anime called Hajime no Ippo. To sum it up this anime is about a kid who picks up boxing because he keeps getting bullied for being weak and ends up being pro. The anime goes until a little past when he becomes boxing champion of Japan for the featherweight division. His sempai Takamura becomes world champion in the junior middle weight division. The thing that I liked about this anime was the action and the humor. The action in this anime is some of the best i've seen. They take boxing to an entirely different level. Also I love the humor. It's really difficult to explain it but if you enjoy japanese humor you will love this anime. I highly recommend it to anybody who likes to see a good action anime. I'm not into sports at all in real life so I think that actually makes me like it better. Reason I say that is because if I did play sports, I would probably not enjoy watching this because of how unrealistic it is. If you watch this anime then go watch real life boxing, you just get bored to death.
